Quantum computing for everyone.
Open Source
Both hardware and software solution are open source. We are actively supporting modifications and re-use of our material !and community-driven solutions.
For Educational Purposes
Designed for educational purposes, this quantum computer aims to integrate up to 5 qubits, allowing the broadest possible audience to explore the fundamental principles of quantum computing.
Affordable
Unlike quantum computers developed in research labs, we aim for a low price, set below CHF 2,000, and minimal running costs. This would help ensure accessibility for all.
Accessible
Empower individuals from all backgrounds to engage with quantum computing through inclusive design and accessible features.

Latest updates
We are thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Metrolab, a Swiss based, leader in precision magnetometry!
Metrolab is developing a low-cost, high-performance magnet specifically adapted for the Schiiq project.
As part of this collaboration, Metrolab will also provide a magnet to support the initial prototyping phase, helping us accelerate development while the dedicated solution is being designed.
"We are excited to contribute our expertise in magnet technology to this ambitious project. Contributing to an open-source initiative in quantum technologies aligns well with our approach to advancing practical and innovative solutions."
Jacques Tinembart, Metrolab CTO
We’re delighted to work with Metrolab, and see this partnership accelerate the Schiiq project.
We are pleased to announce that Pierre Chevalier Kwon has been officially appointed by the board as the coordinator of the Schiiq project.
Pierre holds a PhD in quantum computing from the University of Basel. Alongside his technical expertise, he has been deeply involved in education, with teaching experience at both high school and university levels, as well as in science outreach through events such as BDFIL, Berlin Science Week, and Pint of Science.
With his diverse skill set and enthusiasm, we are confident that Pierre will successfully lead the Schiiq project and help advance our mission to develop a low-cost, open-source quantum computing platform.
We are delighted to announce the official establishment of our non-profit organization, the Schiiq Association! Schiiq is now officially registered in Renens, Vaud, Switzerland.
Our mission is to promote and catalyze education and innovation in quantum science and technology, improve access to quantum hardware and software globally, with initiatives such as building and providing open source quantum computers and sensors hardware/software platforms.
We look forward to the beginning of a long and fruitful journey!
